1) Terms of Service (including EULA) — U.S.–Only
1. About Us, Scope & Geographic Restrictions
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Letter from Jesus mobile applications and related services (the “Service”), operated by WeTheGalaxy (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Our principal place of business is 64, Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. We are registered in the Republic of Korea and receive subscription revenue to a Korean bank account.
Acceptance. By clicking “I agree” (or a similar button) or otherwise expressly accepting these Terms, you enter into a binding agreement with us at that moment. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
U.S.–only. The Service is offered only in the United States. To determine eligibility and enforce this restriction (and prevent fraud), we may use country-level signals (e.g., IP address, Apple App Store/Google Play region, and billing information). You must not use VPNs, anonymizers, spoofed locations, or other methods to circumvent our geographic restrictions.
If we detect that your account was created, accessed, or a purchase was made while you were located outside the United States, we may, to the extent permitted by applicable law: (i) cancel or reverse the transaction (or disable renewal) and issue a refund/credit to the extent supported by the store; (ii) suspend or terminate access; and/or (iii) restrict further use of the Service. Except as required by applicable law or Apple/Google store policies, we are not responsible for consequences arising from access or purchases outside the United States in violation of these Terms. Nothing here limits any non-waivable consumer rights under applicable laws or store policies.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 16 to use the Service. The Service is not intended for users under 16. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it consistent with COPPA.
- We offer social login only (e.g., Google, Apple, Meta). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and social-login credentials and for complying with your social-login provider’s terms.
- On first sign-in, you must select one of our predefined personas. We will store/process your persona for personalization only after you grant Sensitive Personalization Consent (see Section 3 of this pack: Sensitive Consent Notice).
3. The Service
- While your subscription is active, we deliver one letter per day based on your selected persona and your local time zone.
- We may send push notifications when a letter is delivered. You can manage notifications in your device settings.
- You can view current and past letters in the Collection tab, together with any replies you posted for those letters.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service (e.g., for maintenance, security, store compliance, or legal reasons). Where changes materially impact paid features, we will provide reasonable prior notice when practicable.
4. Subscriptions, Free Trial, Renewal & Cancellation
- Price. USD $2.99/month, auto-renewing, plus applicable taxes as required by law or platform stores.
- Free trial. First-time subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial, no charge will be made.
- Billing provider. Purchases and renewals are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your full payment-card details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. (For some stores, renewal charge/authorization may occur within the last 24 hours.)
- Cancellation method. Cancel via your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. In-app “Manage Subscription” links to your store’s subscription page.
- Effect of cancellation. If you cancel after the free trial ends, payments are non-refundable for the current period; access continues until period end and will not renew.
- Price changes. We may change pricing or terms for future periods with prior notice as required by law or Apple/Google policies. If store rules require your explicit consent for a price increase, your subscription will not renew at the higher price unless you consent.
- Receipts & renewal notices. Where required by U.S. law or store policy, we or your platform store will provide confirmations and/or renewal notices including cancellation instructions.
- Consumer & store carve-out. Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable consumer rights under applicable law or your platform store’s refund policies. Where the Apple App Store or Google Play provides or requires a refund, those rules control.
5. User Content (Replies) & Moderation
- You may post replies to your letters (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.
- License to us. To operate, provide, and improve the Service (including hosting, indexing, storage, backup, display, and moderation), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, and display your User Content within the Service. This license ends when you delete the User Content or your account, except for reasonable backup retention or where we must retain it for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Prohibited conduct/content. Do not engage in unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, deceptive, spammy, or otherwise abusive conduct; do not violate others’ rights; do not attempt to bypass security, reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the Service.
- Moderation. We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe these Terms or laws are violated.
- Non-consenting users (why consent is required). If you do not grant Sensitive Personalization Consent, you will receive non-personalized letters and the reply feature will not be available. Replies may, depending on their content and applicable law, include or reveal sensitive information. To let you retrieve your replies later across sessions/devices and to protect service integrity, the reply feature necessarily uses server-side processing and storage (including hosting, indexing, security/abuse screening, and backups). Without your consent to this processing and storage, we cannot provide the reply feature. You may withdraw consent at any time in My Page / Settings; upon withdrawal, we will delete your persona and any server-stored replies, which will no longer be accessible.
6. Third-Party Services & Links
We use third-party sign-in providers, Apple App Store/Google Play billing, analytics/measurement SDKs, and cloud hosting (AWS U.S.). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
7. Intellectual Property & App License (EULA)
Except for User Content, the Service and its content (letters, software, designs, logos) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the app as permitted by these Terms and Apple/Google usage rules. Where Apple’s Standard EULA applies, these Terms supplement (and, where permitted, supersede) that EULA.
8. Safety; No Professional Advice
Letters are inspirational/reflective content. We do not provide medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice. Seek qualified advice if needed.
9. DMCA Notice & Agent (U.S.)
Provide notices to our DMCA Agent including: (i) your physical or electronic signature; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work and the material claimed to be infringing; (iii) your contact information; (iv) a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized; and (v) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized. We also accept eligible counter-notices as provided by law.
Repeat infringers. We adopt and reasonably implement a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers.

10. Export Controls & Sanctions
You may not use the Service if you are subject to U.S. or applicable international sanctions or are located in a restricted territory. You agree to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; or any loss of profits, revenues, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses. Our aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $10. Nothing in this Section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct).
13. Termination & Survival
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, risk, or legal reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (e.g., IP, user-content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Exclusive jurisdiction for disputes is the courts located in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Consumer-law carve-out. If mandatory consumer protection rules in your U.S. state require local law or local courts, those mandatory rules prevail to the extent they cannot be waived.
15. Miscellaneous
Language. The English version of these Terms and the Privacy Policy controls. Any translation is provided for convenience only.
Notices. We may provide notices via in-app messages, email, or by posting within the Service.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force Majeure. We are not responsible for any delay or failure due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, internet failures, or platform outages.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., in-app). Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
2) Privacy Policy — U.S.–Only
Overview
WeTheGalaxy (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Letter from Jesus Service in the United States only. We process and store data primarily in the United States (AWS). Our personnel are based in the Republic of Korea and may access personal information from Korea for operations, support, and administration.
We may use country-level signals (e.g., IP address, App Store/Google Play region, billing information) to enforce U.S.–only availability and prevent fraud. We do not store precise location; we derive country for eligibility.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information. We do not sell or share personal information.
(A) Information you provide
- Account & Profile: Social sign-in identifier, display name, email address, selected persona (processed only after Sensitive Personalization Consent).
- User Content (Replies): The reply feature is available only after you grant Sensitive Personalization Consent; we process replies to operate this feature for consenting users.
- Support: Your communications with us (e.g., email, in-app contact).
(B) Information collected automatically
- Device & app data: App version, OS/version, device identifiers (e.g., push token), language/locale, time zone.
- Usage & diagnostics: In-app actions, timestamps, crash logs, performance metrics.
- Approximate location: Country inferred from IP or similar (eligibility and security only).
(C) Payment information
- Through platform stores only. Purchases/subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive limited transaction metadata (e.g., receipt token, subscription status) to provide the Service.
(D) Sensitive information (religious/health inferences)
For personalization, the Service may infer aspects related to your religious/spiritual or health/mental health life from your persona and in-app interactions. Because this may be considered sensitive under certain U.S. state laws, we rely on your express, separate consent collected during onboarding. If you do not consent, we will not store your persona, will not infer religious/health traits, you will receive non-personalized letters, and the reply feature will not be available.
Why consent is required for the reply feature. Replies may, depending on their content and applicable law, include or reveal sensitive information. To let you retrieve your replies later, the reply feature necessarily relies on server-side processing and storage (including hosting, indexing, security/abuse screening, and backups). Without your consent to this processing and storage, we cannot provide the reply feature, so it is unavailable to non-consenting users.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Service (authentication, deliver daily letters, maintain subscriptions).
- Personalize letters based on your persona only with consent.
- Communicate about the Service (service messages, transactional notices); marketing notifications only with your prior opt-in.
- Secure and prevent abuse, detect and remediate fraud/circumvention (including U.S.–only enforcement).
- Analytics and improvement (quality, performance, troubleshooting).
- Legal compliance and to enforce our Terms.
3. Disclosures (How We Share Information)
- Processors: cloud hosting (AWS U.S.), analytics/diagnostics, customer support, email/push delivery.
- Platform stores: Apple App Store / Google Play for purchases, verification, and refunds.
- Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, protect rights, and respond to lawful requests.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice where required).
We do not sell personal information and do not disclose for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Retention (incl. Effect of Withdrawal) & Account Deletion
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes above.
- Account data: life of account + up to 3 years after inactivity/closure (fraud, chargebacks, legal).
- User Content (Replies): available to consenting users until deletion; upon withdrawal of Sensitive Personalization Consent, we delete any server-stored replies and they become no longer accessible.
- Logs/diagnostics: typically 12 months.
- Push tokens: until notifications are disabled or the app is deleted.
Effect of withdrawal: We immediately stop sensitive-based processing and delete your persona and any server-stored replies. Backups are not actively used and are purged on a rolling schedule. Minimal records strictly necessary for legal compliance and security may be retained separately and are not used for personalization.
Account Deletion. You can delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes your profile and persona; backups are purged on a rolling schedule. If you withdraw Sensitive Personalization Consent, any server-stored replies are deleted and can no longer be accessed.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information (e.g., encryption in transit/at rest where applicable, access controls, monitoring). In the event of a data incident, we will notify users and regulators as required by applicable law. No method is fully secure.
6. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it and may terminate the account.
7. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights (How to Exercise)
You may have rights under your state’s privacy law (e.g., access, delete, correct, portability, appeal).
How to exercise: Email privacy@wethegalaxy.com with subject “Privacy Request”. We will verify your identity (and state residency if applicable). If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email within 45 days.
8. Cookies, SDKs & Tracking Technologies
We may use mobile SDKs for analytics/diagnostics and push notifications. Where required by platform policy or law, we will request consents (e.g., iOS App Tracking Transparency) and disclose SDK practices in App Store privacy labels and Google Play Data Safety.
9. International Operations & Cross-Border Access (Korea)
Primary processing occurs in the United States (AWS). Our team is based in the Republic of Korea and may access personal information from Korea for operations, support, and administration. We implement contractual and technical safeguards for such access (e.g., access controls, logging, least-privilege).
